Our development network for dance, mime and performance

GREENHOUSE is a development network for dance, mime and performance. An initiative of BAU Platform for Dance and Performance, Boogaerdt / VanderSchoot, Keren Levi | NeverLike, Nicole Beutler Projects and Veem House for Performance. The network aims to create a healthy artistic ecosystem in Amsterdam in which dance, mime and performance artists can flourish.

Within GREENHOUSE, we share connections, facilities, ideas and expertise. We claim time and space for research, experimentation and encounters. Together, we provide the support needed for artists to germinate, grow, brew and flourish at every stage of their artistic development. Over the next four years, we will initiate and produce new work, offer residencies and internships, and organise workshops, lectures, summer courses and festivals.

Events from the GREENHOUSE network

COME TOGETHER is an annual three-day performance gathering with artists from Amsterdam. Produced by Nicole Beutler Projects and BAU, in collaboration with Frascati and the GREENHOUSE partners. More about COME TOGETHER and the selected artists at

GARDENING is a one-week creative incubator in which four artists are given the opportunity to simmer and grow new ideas alongside each other. They are given a studio space while being actively coached by professionals in the field. GARDENING is about planting new seeds, making, meeting, feeding, growing, sharing and cross pollinating each other’s worlds.

WE LIVE HERE is an annual summer academy at the end of the cultural season proposing time for experimentation, research and reflection beyond the scope of individual projects or production agendas. WE LIVE HERE invites professionals active in different fields of the performing arts and beyond to join a temporary community, to work and think together. WE LIVE HERE offers two Laboratory programmes with workshops, lectures, expeditions, How-Do-You-Work sessions and visits to Julidans.

THE GREENERY Four times a year, once per season, GREENHOUSE organizes THE GREENERY. During THE GREENERY people working in the Mime, Dance and Performance field gather for an evening of exchange and inspiration. An evening where we share and create discours around relevant topics, where there’s space to open up and reflect on artistic practices. THE GREENERY is a place for deepening and allowing ideas to ferment and sprout – guided each time by the changing seasons.

Each session is based on the current concerns of one of the GREENHOUSE partners.

A manifesto and a celebration of the many innovative and contemporary makers that Amsterdam harbors.

COME TOGETHER is an artistic gathering that aims to create space for experiment and exchange. By generating opportunities to grow together, these three days contribute to a fertile breeding ground for the Amsterdam performance, dance and mime scene.

COME TOGETHER is not a festival in the classical sense of the word. Rather than presenting finished pieces, it provides a platform for all forms of sharing: work-in-process, experiments, performance excerpts, installations, talks and workshops.

The format of COME TOGETHER is fine-tuned every year. To keep the structure open and to monitor its urgency, different ways of selecting and producing are always discussed. Over the last editions, the program was curated from submitted proposals following an open call, hosting a large community of up to 50 artists.

This year, the program is "chain curated". The five GREENHOUSE partners and one guest curator started this chain by inviting one artist who then invites another artist and so on, in order to arrive at a complete and diverse program. This year we will experience the work (in progress) of 18 artists from Amsterdam!

COME TOGETHER 8 is a GREENHOUSE project in collaboration with Frascati.
